Scan a whiteboard before someone erases it.
Scan a whiteboard at the end of a meeting and walk away with a clear, glare-free capture instead of a dim, skewed photo. ScannerFlow straightens the board, boosts the marker, and then lets you summarize the notes with AI and share them with everyone who was in the room.

Why a plain photo fails
Whiteboards are hard to photograph
Glare, reflections, a skewed angle, and pale marker turn a quick snapshot into something no one can actually read later.
Glare & reflections
Overhead lights and windows bounce off the glossy surface, washing out whole sections of the board.
Skewed angle
You are rarely dead-center, so a raw photo comes out as a lopsided trapezoid that is awkward to read.
Faint marker
Half-dry pens and light colors barely register on camera without a contrast boost.
The fix
A scanner corrects the perspective so the board is square, then enhances contrast to bring faint marker back to life — the same treatment it gives a paper document, applied to the wall.
Step by step
How to scan a whiteboard
- 1
Step slightly to one side
Shoot from a small angle rather than straight on to keep lights and windows from reflecting into the lens.
- 2
Fit the whole board in frame
Back up until all four edges are visible and let ScannerFlow detect the border of the board.
- 3
Capture and enhance
Let it correct the perspective and boost contrast so the marker pops and the surface reads clean and white.
- 4
Summarize, then share
Ask the AI to summarize the notes, save it as a PDF or image, and share it with everyone from the meeting.
Why ScannerFlow
A whiteboard capture people can actually use
Glare-free enhancement
Perspective correction squares the board and contrast filters cut glare, so the result reads clean instead of washed out.
AI meeting summaries
Turn a board full of notes into a tidy summary — ask the AI what the key points and action items were before you share.
Searchable notes
On-device OCR reads printed and neat handwriting, making tidy whiteboard notes searchable and copyable later.
Share in seconds
Export a clean image or PDF and send it to the whole team while the meeting is still fresh.
Pro tips
Get a clean whiteboard capture
Kill the reflection
If a light is bouncing right back at you, take one step left or right — the hotspot usually slides off the board.
Capture before the wipe
Grab it at the end of the discussion, before anyone reaches for the eraser. You cannot re-scan an erased board.
Split a huge board
For a wall-length board, take two overlapping captures and keep both pages in one document.
Use even room light
Turn on the full room lights rather than relying on one harsh spot, so contrast is even across the surface.
Scanning a whiteboard — FAQ
How do I scan a whiteboard without glare?
Stand slightly off to one side rather than straight on, so overhead lights and windows do not reflect back into the lens, then let the scanner correct the angle. Capturing at a slight offset and letting perspective correction straighten it usually beats a dead-on shot full of hotspots.
Can I capture a whole wall-sized whiteboard?
Yes. Back up far enough to fit the whole board in frame, hold steady, and let edge detection find the border. If the board is huge, capture it in two overlapping sections and keep both in the same document.
Will it clean up marker that is faded or hard to read?
The enhancement filters boost contrast and even out lighting, which makes pale dry-erase marker far more legible than a raw phone photo. Very light or half-erased writing will still be limited by what is physically on the board.
Can it turn whiteboard notes into text?
On-device OCR reads printed and neat handwriting, so tidy notes can become searchable, copyable text. Messy brainstorm scrawl is harder for any OCR — the clearer the writing, the better the result. You can also ask the AI to summarize what was captured.
Is it free to scan a whiteboard?
ScannerFlow is free to download and free to try. Some advanced features, including the AI tools, are part of an optional subscription, but you can capture and enhance a whiteboard to see how it works first.
